POTTSTOWN, PA - January 24, 2006 -- The Eastwood Company, a
leading provider of vehicle restoration and customization tools
and supplies, on Friday hosted a tour and product demonstration
for senior students from the Western Center for Technical Studies.
Seventeen senior-level members of Western Center's Automotive
Collision Repair class attended the two-hour long session. After
a thorough tour of Eastwood's Research and Development facilities,
call center, and warehouse, the students were treated to hands-on
demonstrations of unique products such as the Beverly Shear,
Eastwood's HotCoat powdercoating system, and even got a sneak
peek at one major tool that is still in the development stages.
Following the demonstrations, several students got the opportunity
to jump in and use the products themselves. Then the class received
a surprise gift from Eastwood: six sets of Eastwood airbrush
stencils, plus an AutoAir water based automotive paint set for
each student.
"The kids are really excited by this opportunity," remarked
Paul Woodman, the School-to-Work Coordinator who accompanied
the students on their tour. "We enjoy coming to Eastwood because
of the learning experience the students get here."
The tour and demonstrations are part of Eastwood's continuing
efforts to educate current and future automotive hobbyists on
restoration techniques. Other examples of Eastwood's educational
endeavors that are available to the public include the ShopTalk
forum, Tech Library, and Before and After Projects page, which
are all available at Eastwood's website. In addition, Eastwood
offers similar tours and demonstrations to local car clubs throughout
the year.
